Fidel Castro, revolutionary leader who remade Cuba as a socialist state, dies at 90.
US - Arab Today

Fidel Castro, the fiery apostle of revolution who brought the Cold War to the Western Hemisphere in 1959 and then defied the United States for nearly half a century as Cuba’s maximum leader, bedevilling 11 US presidents and briefly pushing the world to the brink of nuclear war, died on November 25. He was 90.

#FidelCastro - The hashtag trended on all social media channels as Castro’s supporters praised the man who stood up to America during the Cold War and returned Cuba to the people. His critics, however, called him a dictator.

Ryan Scott Sypkens: “Not every leader is perfect, but let’s weigh the good and the bad. RIP Fidel”

Anoir Essadate Hamouda: “Fidel Castro was a good Friend of Africa ✊✊, He stood with African People when the World did not trust in Africa’s freedom. Long live Castro - Long live Cuba...”

Imran Khan: “RIP the most powerful revoluationary Fidel Castro.”

Gabriela Caravelli: “I totally understand the feeling of all the Castro’s victims, relatives.”

Auric Aaple: “Castro was freedom fighters, he also supported Bangabondho 1971.”

Kevin Henson: “The only people mourning his death is his immediate family and the citizens of Cuba who have been ordered to do so. The only thing this crazy old man squeezed was his own people, only ones destroyed by him were Cubans, unfortunately his dysfunctional family still carry on his legacy. Hell waited a long time to receive him. He had no right to subjugate the people of Cuba, no right to be their lord and master. They were expecting a great leader and got a despot.”

Imraan Turpin: “Our comrade has fallen, you fought a good fight I salute you , you never bowed to western pressures you made them conform to you and respect your way of life you sir are a legend .with every war comes casualties may God forgive you for your short comings.”

Aftar Ahmed Abbasi: “RIP, Fidel Castro Ruz, lifelong revolutionary and historic leader of the Cuban Revolution,he inspired the Cuban workers, students and peasants to carry on the fight against imperialism. Legends never die, they just live on in our thoughts and principles. Fidel Castro was a true legend whose name will forever be immortalised in the pages of history, he was the figure of revolution, salute to his relentless struggle.”

Syed Ansar Hussain: “Socialist dies in an extremely capitalist date: Black Friday... Now that is IRONY.”

Matovu Faisal: “Let them celebrate but it’s well known that he is still a hero in Cuba.”

Eric Ausen: “The end of three generations of narcissism that has sacrificed freedom for millions of people.”
