Kuwait - KUNA

The Kuwaiti Cabinet discussed an upcoming visit by the Amir of Qatar, sports legislation and tackling obstacles that face local development projects in an extraordinary session at Sief Palace on Wednesday. The Cabinet welcomed the upcoming visit of Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, who will visit the country as the guest of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, after being briefed on the occasion, said the State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Health Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdallah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah on behalf of his fellow ministers. The visit illustrates the depth of relations between the leaderships of both states, he said, expressing confidence it would do much to boost the level of cooperation in the best interests of the two neighbourly member nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The ministers also adopted amendments to a draft law pertaining to difficulties facing local sports clubs and their collective meetings, in the event of an incomplete quorum, after being briefed on the matter by the Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs. They went on to discuss the 'government 2013/14-2016-17 working programme', more commonly known as the four-year development plan, in light of a briefing presented by State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and State Minister for Planning and Development Rola Dashti. The plan's priorities and details were emphasised along with the means and capabilities at hand to address difficulties and obstacles and achieve aspired national goals. The programme's goals need to go hand-in-hand with national principles, agreed the ministers, along with compliance to efforts aimed at comprehensive reform all of which will aim to respond to the aspirations of the Kuwaiti people
