Bahraini FM praises UNDP's support for development projects in Bahrain

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ghanim bin Fadl Al-Buainain received here today the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in the Kingdom Peter Grohmann and Director of the United Nations Media Centre Najib Friji . The Minister of State praised the role of the UNDP in supporting development projects aimed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals in the Kingdom of Bahrain, lauding the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this regard,and praising UNDP's support for the sake of consolidating its efforts to achieve sustainable development. He underlined the Kingdom's interest in the United Nations Day, observed across the world on October 24 every year, noting that many functions will be organised by the concerned ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to mark the occasion. United Nations Day has traditionally been marked throughout the world by many functions with participation of relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Peter Grohmann and Najib Friji commended Bahrain’s contributions to achieving sustainable development programmes and support for the United Nations’ efforts in this area.
