Cairo - KUNA

Kuwait's Ambassador to Egypt Dr. Rasheed Al-Hamad called Wednesday on all Kuwaitis in Egypt to keep away from areas witnessing protests in Al-Nahda and Rabaa Al-Adawiya squares for their own safety and security. The Kuwaiti embassy and all its related offices are taking necessary and precautionary measures, amid developments, and in light of its assessment of the situation, to ensure safety of Kuwaitis living in Egypt. The ambassador also said the embassy has designated hotlines for emergency to all Kuwaitis in various provinces of Egypt, and they are as follows: 00201210444448 or 00201210444449. He added that Kuwaitis studying in Egypt are advised to contact the Cultural Office in Cairo or the Cultural Attache in Alexandria in case of emergency. The Kuwaiti students are also advised not to rush in returning back to Egypt to join their classes due to the still unstable security situation there, Ambassador Al-Hamad noted. The embassy through the Cultural Office in Cairo is in contact with the various Egyptian universities and is working on postponing the exams during the current period, he added. The Egyptian security forces, backed by aircraft of the Armed Forces, raided this morning sit-ins by supporters of the ousted president, Mohamed Morsi, at the squares of Al-Nahda and Rabaa Al-Adawiya, leaving many people dead and wounded.
