An Iranian national suspected of spying for Israel has been arrested in Kerman, an Iranian court official said. Dadkhoda Salari, head of the Kerman Revolution Court, said the Iranian is suspected of passing intelligence information to an official from the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, Press TV and the Iranian student website ISNA said. The suspect, who was involved in trade activities in Southeast Asian countries, was arrested before embarking on a second trip to Thailand where he allegedly planned to reveal information concerning Iran's economy, geography and details on the mines in Kerman province, Salari said. Iranian authorities executed in May two men who were convicted of working for Israel and the United States. One of the suspects allegedly handed over security-related information to Israel's Mossad and the other worked with the U.S. CIA, the semi-official Fars news agency reported at the time.
