Khartoum - Abedalgoum Ashmeag
A Sudanese delegation from the Ministry of Petroleum visited South Sudan’s capital of Juba on Thursday to resume talks about exporting South Sudan’s oil through Sudanese territories. Spokesperson for South Sudan’s government Barnabas Marial Benjamin told Arabstoday that current talks are positive, stressing that the two countries are close to concluding the final agreement to resume the production of oil. The Sudanese official said that such a step would serve the economic interests of the two countries and their people. He added that the officials of the two countries would conduct a number of meetings during the coming period to pave the way for opening trade borders and citizen movement between the two countries. Meanwhile, Sudan’s State Minister for Presidential Affairs Idreece Mohamed Abdel-Kader met with the South Sudanese delegation of Labourers Union. He praised the current efforts exerted to execute the agreement, adding that the visit reflects the desire of the two countries to execute their commitments.
