Gaza - Mohammad Habib

Palestinian medical sources announced on Thursday morning, that a Palestinian named Bilal Shaat, 24, was killed and another was wounded when a tunnel collapsed in Rafah onthe  Gaza Egypt border. Adham Abu Salima, an official in the Gaza Health Ministry told ‘Arabstoday’ that Bilal Shaat, 24, from Khan Younis, died, and another was injured while working in the underground passage near Al-Salam neighborhood in southern Rafah. The wounded was transferred to Abu Yousef Al Najar hospital in Rafah. It’s worth mentioning that this is the first accident in 2012, in collapsed tunnels, where over 160 young men have died working tunnels in a bid to smuggle in goods that cannot be accessed from normal channels due to Israel's blockade on the strip which has been applied on the region since 2007.
