Palestinian faction supports UN bid

Jameel Muzhir, a Member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, confirmed the Front’s support for the Palestinian Authority’s bid for formal UN recognition at the meeting of the General Assembly on September 23rd. Muzhir called on Palestinians to unite to maximise the strength of the application.   The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation has highlighted the importance of the UN bid.   In a statement, the Secretary of the organisation’s Executive Committee said: “The Palestinian leadership stresses the need for a peaceful solution because Israel’s right-wing government is trying to lure the Palestinian people into conflict to sabotage the peaceful nature of the UN bid.”
