Israeli soldier seeks Palestinian nationality

In strange development to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a former Israeli soldier has written an intriguing chapter. The former Israeli soldier wants to abandon his Israeli nationality and move in to live in a Palestinian refugee camp in the West Bank. Twenty three year old Andre Bashiniknikov, who is a Jewish immigrant from Tajikistan, was arrested for illegal residence in the Dheisheh refugee camp, near Bethlehem. He told police that he wanted to abandon his Israeli nationality and acquire the Palestinian one instead. Bashiniknikov is now in Europe for two months, and has said that he hopes to move to the West Bank after his return to Israel. There have been very few cases of Israelis who have wanted to move to the Palestinian territories in the past.
