Cairo - Akram Ali
The Interior Ministry in Egypt has announced that it would not take any measures against demonstrations and marches heading towards the presidential palace on Tuesday.   Egyptians will take to the streets to protest against Morsi’s constitutional decree and the referendum on the constitution. In a statement, the Interior Ministry said: “Following several political groups’ call for a demonstration on Tuesday, the Ministry will assume its national responsibility to protect state institutions and private and public properties. We believe in freedom of expression.” The Ministry promised it would not intervene in any peaceful protest. The statement urged the protest organisers to take their responsibilities in order to maintain the safety of the protesters.
