Hamas denies Mossad infiltration in Gaza office

Hamas' Cabinet Office has denied reports that Mossad, Israel's national intelligence agency, infiltrated Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh’s office by clandestinely recruiting one of its employees. In a statement, the Cabinet Office denied "what has been reported on some shady websites regarding a Mossad infiltration at the Prime Minister's office." The statement said the relevant authorities had been notified. A news website had previously reported that one of PM Haniyeh's employees had been arrested on charges of espionage before being released shortly after. Speaking during a reception for a Malaysian delegation, Haniyeh reasserted his government’s "total commitment to preservation of Palestinian soil" promising not to “give up one inch of it.” He also spoke of the "unity of the Palestinian people" at a time when reconciliation talks between Hamas and Fatah are believed to be imminent. The PM thanked the Malaysian envoy for visiting the Gaza Strip while investing in development projects in conjunction with Malaysia’s Muslim Brotherhood. Haniyeh celebrated the country’s commitment to the “values of Islam, the Umma, the Brotherhood, Palestine and al-Quds.”  "It is true that thousands of miles separate you from the Holy City but your visit proves that the distance means nothing,” the Prime Minister claimed. “You will arrive at the al-Aqsa mosque after its liberation.”
