Egypt's Ayman Nour enters presidential race

President of the "Ghad al-Thawra" Party, Ayman Nour, has officially declared he will run for the Egyptian presidency while representing his party, saying "The Supreme Council of The Armed Forces' (SCAF) decision to let him enjoy his political rights is a benefit of the January 25 revolution". Nour said he will submit his documents to the high committee of the presidential elections on April 6 after Friday prayers in al-Azhar Mosque, as it was the same date he entered the presidential elections of 2005 against ousted president Hosni Mobarak. Nour revealed in a press conference that his campaign would bear the slogan of "Hope, Reformation, Wisdom, and Change", adding that his granted amnesty was too late for him be fully prepared as  elections were less than two months away, "but the chance is still there". The former dissident hinted at the possibility of being named in a "presidential group" that could unify a number of presidential candidates from different political fronts, but insisted that the issue rested upon the party's executive board. Nour called for the release of more political detainees who have been languishing in jails since 1981, particullary political activist Ahmed Douma, as "the Egyptian people will never feel free while about 80 political detainees are still imprisoned".
