Cairo - Arab Today

Egyptian voters started on Monday heading for balloting stations to choose between Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Nasserist politician Hamdeen Sabahi as their president for the next four years. Balloting will run for two days across Egypt starting from 9:00 a.m till 9:00 p.m. under a full judicial supervision. Sisi is represented by the star symbol on ballots while Sabahi is represented by eagle. More than 16,000 judges and members of the prosecution will oversee the voting process in 13,899 sub elections committees. Voters will cast their ballots in the committees where their names are registered in except those living in governorates rather than the ones registered in their national ID cards. Those will vote in the committees they picked before during the time given by the commission in this respect. Any electioneering will be banned during the two days of the voting. Police and army will highly secure the voting process. After the end of the first day, the ballot boxes will be highly sealed and left in the sub committees under the supervision of army and police forces. With the end of the second day of voting, the head of each sub committee will preside over the counting process and will report the results to the general committee. Final results will be made public on June 5 at the latest. Source: MENA
