Nouakchott - Mohamed Shina
British Foreign Secretary, William Hague, is due to visit Mauritania next week to discuss a number of regional issues including the current conflict with Mali, a source has told Arab Today. The British diplomat will arrive in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott to meet with a number of governmental officials, including Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, on his three day visit. The source added that the terrorist threat in the Sahel region, including al-Qaeda's increased activities, will dominate talks. Hague is due to discuss repercussions of the current war in Mali as well as the financial crisis. Along with Mauritanian officials, Hague will look into ways to increase trade exchange between the two countries in the coming period.
