Algiers - Hocine Bousalah
Algeria’s Bishop Ghalib Badr said that exercising religious rituals in Algeria is a clear evidence of respecting religious freedom, calling the world for peaceful co-existence. The statements were a response to the accusations against the Algerian government of preventing the Christians from practising their religious ceremonies. Badr urged leaders to respect the rights and dignity of their people, expressing his hope that Maghreb countries would enjoy peace and stability. Algeria’s Christian community celebrated Christmas on Tuesday, whilst the Bishop addressed the church to focus on peace to confront the conflicts and discrimination all over the world.
