Baghdad - Jafar Nasraoui

Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, on Monday accused unnamed parties of seeking to declare the death certificate of the President of Iraqi Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani and The Barzani Initiative by seeking to abort it, calling on the latter to follow up the implementation of its provisions in order to  transform the reality of the country for the better in all areas, all the while warning of "disastrous" consequences for the future of Iraq and its unity in case the project of regions does not take the steps necessary now and by providing the right elements for success. Hashemi said in a statement issued by his office Monday, "There are those who work to abort the Erbil's initiative, seeking to declare its death certificate," adding that "Iraq today is in dire need of such agreements, and we hope the sponsors of the initiative to follow up as its a win-win situation for all, and to postpone is not in the best interest of Iraq." He also added that "the initiative of Erbil is a historical gain for Iraq, by applying it will transform the reality of the Iraqi for the better in political, legal and legislative spheres and as well as aspect of financial, administrative and judicial reform, not to mention reconciliation issues," adding that "the dispute between the Iraqi List and the State Of Law is not personal, as some suggest, in fact, it is a philosophical difference on the management of the state, and this is the origin of the dispute. " There are disagreements between the Iraqi List and State Of Law Coalition regarding some of the terms in Erbil's agreement, including the disagreement on the draft Law of the Council of the supreme strategies polices; the Iraqi List requires the mechanism of choice to be in the House of Representatives, a point rejected by the State Of Law Coalition, instead demanding this to be inside the organization that is formed inside the Council and only according to the qualities of the person heading the council and his powers, and on whether he should be named general secretary or president. In a separate context, Al-Hashemi said "the issue of forming regions is constitutional and legal as the article 119 regulates this issue, and we do not object to it. He said, "Every project needs certain requirements for success; systematic work and consensus." El Hashemi said that "the subject requires careful study, specific requirements and tools" he asked, "Do these conditions exist today in this project? And did we conduct polls and discussions to know the real opinion of the people regarding this matter?"
