Baghdad may use force to control crossing Habur

Iraqi Ambassador to Turkey Hisham al-Alawi said on Friday that Baghdad may use force – if needed - to take control of Habur border crossing that links Iraqi Kurdistan with Turkey.
The Iraqi ambassador made the remarks during a press conference held in Ankara on a recent Kurdish regional independence poll.
He said a military exercise with the Turkish side was held as preparation for that purpose.
Baghdad and Ankara hold discussions to reopen the crossing to boost trade cooperation, he added.
