Karachi - Agencies

Violence erupted in different areas of Karachi after a worker of the Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh chapter was murdered on Wednesday. At least five people were killed in the post-murder violence while several vehicles were set on fire in different areas. Zianul Abideen, an ANP worker of the Patel Para area, died, and both his companions were injured when armed men opened fire on them near Matric Board Office in Nazimabad, according to Pakistan's Geo News. Firing was soon reported in other areas of the city as armed individuals set fire to cars and motorcycles in different areas. As violence engulfed different parts of the city, shops, petrol and CNG stations were also shut down on Wednesday night. Security forces were deployed in the violence-hit areas.
