Doha - Nabil Zéghdoud
Arab journalists have staged a  boycott of the seventh annual World Conference of Science Journalists.  The protest is in response to the participation of Israeli journalist and documentary film director Anna Wexler. The conference, hosted by the Qatar Foundation in Doha, planned a talk by Wexler, who was to lead a session on scientific Hebrew media. Jordanian journalists Farah Alateyyat of Al Ghad Newspaper and Tareq Alhumaidi of Al Rai Newspaper both participated in the boycott, refusing to attend any sessions in which Wexler was involved. The Arab journalists taking part in the workshops and conference boycotted Anna’s session as a way of denying any form of normalization with Israel.
