Cairo - Akram Ali
The trial of the former Egyptian Minister of the Interior, Habib Al-Adly, who has been accused of killing demonstrators, has been scheduled to be broadcast live for the first time on Monday. The trial of his aid to the Central Security Forces, Ahmed Ramzi, and also a number of officers accused of killing demonstrators on 28th January will also be shown. Egyptian television is transmitting the live events of the trial for the first time on air after rumours that Al-Adly and the other accused officers were not in prison, and were not being tried at all. The trial comes after the public approved the principle of publicity in the trial of the figureheads of the former regime by the Supreme Court. The trial of the former Minister of Information, Anas Al-Faqi was broadcast last week.
