3 Saudis arrested over Kuwait's mosque blast

Three Saudi brothers have been arrested in connection with Kuwait's mosque suicide bombing last month in which 27 people were killed, Al Arabiya News reported on Tuesday.

Investigations have led to strong suspicion of three Saudi brothers to have links with the attack, spokesman for the Saudi Interior Ministry Major-General Mansoor Al Turki said in a statement.

Two of them were born in Kuwait, and the three have connections to their fourth brother who is in Syria and is a member of Daesh , Turki added.

One of the three brothers was arrested by Kuwaiti authorities and will be handed over to Saudi Arabia, he said, adding that the two others were arrested in Saudi Arabia after a shoutout with one of them.

Two policemen were injured in the fire exchange and rushed to hospital, he said.

On June 28, The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry said that the suicide bomber who blew himself up at the Shiite Muslim mosque was a Saudi national.

The attacker was identified as Fahd Suleiman Abdulmohsen Al-Gabbaa.

Daesh militant group claimed responsibility for the bombing, which was the Gulf Arab country's worst militant attack in years.
