Dubai - Arab Today

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the 2000 Guineas Stakes at Newmarket Racecourse on Saturday.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, as well as several Sheikhs, officials, horse breeders and owners were also present.

Churchill claimed victory in the 2000 Guineas Group 1 race.

Permian, owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, won the Havana Gold Newmarket Stakes.

Five fillies from the UAE will compete in 1000 Guineas, the Group 1 fillies Classic for three-year-olds over a distance of one mile, on Sunday.
