Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Sunday hailed the pioneering roles played by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in serving the UAE people and Arab nation.

Madbouli made the remarks while attending a ceremony hosted by Al Ahram Foundation to celebrate 'Year of Zayed', which marks 100 years since the birth of the UAE's Founding Father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

"History tells us that the legacy of leaders who make difference in their respective nations' lives, remains forever," Madbouli said.

He highlighted the continuous support given by Sheikh Zayed to Egypt, including his role in October 1973 victory, as well as his initiatives, including his efforts to mend Arab fences following the Kuwait invasion crisis.

Madbouli also praised the UAE leadership; President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for following the path of Sheikh Zayed.
