Hamad Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, has congratulated the President of the Republic of Lebanon, General Michel Aoun, on the occasion of the 73rd independence anniversary, at the presidential palace in Baabda.

The Lebanese Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, Caretaker Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Prime Minister-designate Saad Al-Hariri were present.

The UAE ambassador conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the Lebanese President. They wished stability and prosperity to Lebanon and its people.

He stressed that this event constitutes a symbol of unity as all unite around the state and its institutions, reaffirming the UAE leadership's unwavering support to the legitimate institutions. This reflects the depth of the historical relationship that combines the two countries and the two peoples, the UAE envoy said.

Ambassador Al Shamsi attended the symbolic parade held by the Lebanese Army Command on Tuesday morning on the occasion of the independence anniversary, at Shafik Al Wazan Avenue.
