Cairo - MENA

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday inspected an art exhibition for the Veteran Warriors Society at the International Conference Center in the 5th Settlement in New Cairo.

He also inspected an exhibition by productive families and youths.

Sisi listened to a detailed explanation on the exhibitions' products from Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali.

In statements during his tour at the exhibition, Sisi said the state is ready to offer help for whoever is willing to develop his work and export the products. For his part, Head of the Armed Forces' Engineering Authority Kamel el Wazir said the authority, as of June 30, 2014, was tasked with implementing 2,097 projects, at a total cost of EGP 1.185 billion.

So far, 1,338 projects were finalized and 759 others are being implemented, Wazir said.

In the field of road construction, the authority was tasked with constructing 73 roads, with a total length of about 4,063 km, he added.

The authority builds roads in mountainous and desert areas that are difficult for construction companies to have access to, Wazir noted.

As for bridges and tunnels, Wazir said the authority constructed 271 pedestrian and vehicle bridges and tunnels.
Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority (AFEA) Maj. Gen. Kamel el Wazir reviewed projects carried out by the AFEA in the field of water supply.

El Wazir underlined that as many as 101 projects have been already implemented in such field including establishing water desalination plants, water transfer lines in addition to 440 wells in the western desert.

The AFEA's activities in the field of reconstruction projects comprise setting up about 424 universities, schools and Azhar institutions, el Wazir pointed out.

As well, about 342 projects in the fields of establishment and restoration of places of worship have been carried out in addition to repairing the churches which were previously destroyed by terrorist acts, el Wazir expounded.

Implementation rate of the aforementioned projects is considered an unprecedented achievement in Egypt's modern history, el wazir said adding that projects have been implemented in coordination with more than 3,000 Egyptian and national companies comprising about five million engineers and technicians.

After that, Sisi inspected the cinema hall attached to Al Manarah International Conference Center.
