Ruler of Sharjah tours Ministry of Culture pavilion at Sharjah Book Fair

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, toured the pavilion of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development at the 36th Sharjah International Book Fair on Wednesday. His Highness was accompanied by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, in addition to a number of UAE cultural leaders, writers and publishers.

Noura Al Kaabi said that the Sharjah International Book Fair has, over the past years, succeeded in enriching the cultural and knowledge movements in the UAE, the Gulf region and the Arab world in general. It also played an important role in promoting the UAE's cultural scene, supporting publishing and writing movements, enriching the intellectual movement and supporting writers, creative artists and promising talent.

The ministry’s pavilion at the exhibition reflects a comprehensive picture of the UAE cultural scene. It comprises more than 100 titles from the ministry’s latest releases by Emirati creative writers in various fields. The pavilion is also home to cultural services offered by the ministry, book signing ceremonies, and e-Smart services to introduce visitors to the ministry’s releases, projects, awards and cultural and libraries services.
