His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa last night welcomed HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, and his wife HRH Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, to Bahrain in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

HM the King welcomed HRH Prince Charles on his visit to Bahrain and extended greetings to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, wishing her abundant health and happiness. The King hailed the deep-rooted bilateral relations built over more than two hundred years on solid foundations, shared determination and mutual interests.

He commended the important role of HRH Prince Charles as well as his dedicated efforts to support and consolidate Bahraini-British relations and expand joint cooperation. The King said that he took pride in the positive results of his recent successful visit to the UK, hailing his fruitful meetings with HM Queen Elizabeth and British Prime Minister Theresa May which, he said, would bolster bilateral relations.

HRH Prince Charles expressed his delight at visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain and meeting HM the King. He thanked King Hamad for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality, hailing his role and keenness on bolstering deep-rooted historic relations between the two friendly kingdoms.

According to the Bahrain News Agency, BNA, HM the King hosted a dinner banquet at Al-Rawdha Palace in honour of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
