Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa met Shaochun.
Beijing - BNA

The Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and his accompanying delegation met the Governor of Chinese Hubei Province, Shaochun. They discussed several topics as part of the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries and people.

In 2016, Shaikh Hisham and the then city mayor signed a friendship and cooperation MoU between Manama and Shenzhen cities as part of the excellent bilateral relations between Bahrain and the People’s Republic of China and shared vision regarding strategic issues, to consolidate the existing relations established on strong and firm foundations.

These remarks came during the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB)’s delegation’s visit headed by the Capital governor in the presence of Khalid Al Rumaihi, CEO of the EDB, and Waleed Kano, Deputy Treasurer of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Bahrain is keen on proceeding with its robust strategic ties with China particularly joining in the Modern Silk Road’s (One Belt, One Road) Initiative. To indicate this, Bahrain has become the hub for Chinese companies seeking access into the fast growing GCC market and regional markets. The initiative will gradually push towards the accomplishment of more achievements in the interest of our two friendly peoples, Shaikh Hisham said.

He added that our two friendly countries had relations since the era of the ancient Silk Road. To reaffirm the economic and cultural heritage, the Chinse President Xi Jinping in September 2013 launched the (One Belt, One Road) Initiative to revive the ancient Silk Road which confirms China’s commitment to paving new roads for development and cooperation between all the countries along the belt and road to boost the manufacturing and urban transformation in them and contribute to the prosperity of the entire world.

Bahrain has constantly been keen on opening new vistas in the economic and investment fields in earnest to benefit from international expertise. Our visit to Hubei city was indicative of Bahrain’s keenness on establishment and development of economic projects and activities between our two friendly countries, especially as the Capital Governorate has exerted efforts in boosting its distinguished bilateral relations with several Chinese cities with which it signed friendship and cooperation MoUs, he said
