Yemeni forces controlled military sites and a power station in addition to residential districts in the northern area of coastal city Mokha after battles against the Houthi militias and other forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

According to sources, Yemeni governmental troops launched attacks against the sites of Houthi militias and Saleh’s forces in a number of villages in northern area of the strategic city. They added that the governmental troops prepare currently for another attack against Yakhtel which is considered one of the major strongholds of Houthi group.

The sources clarified that the engineering staff working with Yemeni governmental troops managed to remove a large number of land mines planted by the Houthis in the public roads to prevent the advance of the Yemeni forces in Yemen’s northern coastal line.

In the same context, military sources revealed that the killing and injury of 12 militants during the battles witnessed in Taiz, as the army managed to confront surprise attacks launched by the insurgents against the governmental sites in the southern area of Taiz.

On the other hand, Yemen’s President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi ordered the formation of an operation room in the temporary capital of Aden to ease the decision making process and to unify the information regarding the military developments witnessed in the country to pave the way for consolidating the security.

During his meeting with the military leaders, Hadi stressed the need for exerting the efforts to keep the consecutive victories achieved to the country and its peopleto pave the way for building a federal state working to achieve justice for all its citizens. He called the different parties for bearing their responsibilities to keep security in Aden during the coming period.

On his hand, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir lamented the increasing efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis, blaming what he described as “intransigent attitude” adopted by the militias of Houthi group and former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The statements came during a press conference between the Saudi official and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Riyadh.

Jubeir added, “Over 70 agreements have been concluded with Houthi and Saleh, while they have not honored their commitment.” He justified the interference of the Arab Coalition, saying that the militias attempted to overthrow the legitimate government that asked for our help upon the UN rules. He added, “We interfered to save the legitimacy.”

He added, “The efforts exerted by the UN envoy to Yemen failed due to the positions adopted by Houthi militias and Saleh.” He stressed the need for ending the suffering of Yemeni people as soon as possible.
