Yemeni government forces announced its control, on Tuesday, at three sites west of the province of Taiz after fierce battles with the Houthi militants and Saleh's forces. The sources said that the government forces launched a heavy attack on the positions of the militia, east of the city of Mukha, while government forces managed to control the east of Nabata mount, and cut through the supply of Houthis.

The sources said 10 of Houthis militants were killed and 14 wounded in the fighting, while two were killed and others wounded from government forces. According to the sources, the coalition aircraft launched seven raids on the positions of Houthis west of the camp Khalid in Mowzea' directorate, and was able to damage two vehicles. Sources point to continued fighting and artillery shelling between government forces and Houthis forces north of Mukha Directorate.

Nine of Houthis militants were killed and two from government troops were wounded in clashes between the two sides in Naham district east of Sana'a, a military source said. The source said that the gunmen tried to sneak into the positions of the Yemeni army loyal to the legitimate government in the area of  Doha mount in Naham east of Sana'a, and erupted after that clashes between the parties.

The source pointed out that the government forces repelled the attack and killed nine of the gunmen Houthi, and wounded another number was not specified. The source pointed out that at least two members of government forces were killed during the clashes, and others were wounded, without giving further details.

 

In Riyadh, Yemeni President Abdurbo Mansour Hadi said, on Tuesday, that the crisis of firmness faced the challenges and interventions of Iran in the region, through the tools of the Houthis and Saleh's forces, and the various arms in the region. Hadi said during his meeting with the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Abdullatif Zayani, that the GCC countries support Yemen and stand by it, during the recent crisis.

For his part, Zayani said the spirit of cooperation exists between the GCC states and the Yemeni government.

President Hadi also received the US Ambassador to Yemen Matthew Toler. During the meeting, he discussed the prospects for cooperation and coordination between the United States and Yemen in various levels.

He praised the high level of relations between the two countries, under the new US administration to meet the challenges and threats to international navigation and peace and counter-terrorism efforts, which have achieved outstanding results in this regard.
