Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Banna, UAE Ambassador to India, and Krishna Rajan, Convener of the Ambassadors’ Club, an open ended discussion forum, of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, yesterday discussed a number of issues related to Foreign Direct investment, FDI, from India to the UAE.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed mutual investments especially in the transport, automobiles, food processing, information technology, and energy sectors, as well as the importance of directing investment between the two countries.

Rajan briefed Dr. Al-Banna on the recently launched forum with the aim of establishing institutional arrangements that bring together current and retired ambassadors from India and foreign countries under one roof to take advantage of their expertise and insight on a regular basis.

Rajan also presented the progress of trade relations between the UAE and India especially in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises, SMEs, and high-technology sectors, which contribute to strengthening the initiatives of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Dr. Al-Banna expressed his country's desire to cooperate in the forum.
