Al Azhar enhancing coop. with Red Cross
Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb

Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb received Wednesday the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Ronald Ofteringer, currently visiting Egypt.
The two sides discussed means of promoting joint cooperation to serve the humanity as well as international peace and security.
Tayyeb said that Al Azhar is ready to help all the humanitarian organizations that provide aid to people regardless of their cultural, religious or ethnic background, noting that Al Azhar's message is humanitarian and international .
For his part, Ofteringer stressed that Tayyeb's speech to the world sets a common ground for understanding and dialogue between the east and the west.
