The Zayed University's Early Learning Center (ECLC) will introduce advanced technology applications as a one of its learning solutions.During a tour of the ECLC, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and President of Zayed University, has instructed its management to use modern technology in all activities from learning to communication with parents.Sheikh Nahyan got knowledge about the ECLC creative curriculum and approaches to learning and other programmes for age group from 6 months to 4 years. The centre has the capacity to accept 120 students.The edutainment centre, the first of its kind in the region with purpose built facilities designed for early childhood education and development, incorporates developmental areas in physical fine and gross motor skills, cognitive numeracy, literacy and problem solving, socio-emotional confidence, self-awareness and behavior management, language receptive and productive communication, and vocabulary.The center endorses a dual language emersion model where team teachers interact with the children in both languages in the same classroom. The guiding principle of this model is language maintenance and enrichment.Fatma Ahmad Al Bastaki, ECLC Director, said the center is receiving increasing response from parents even outside the campus.The Zayed University ECLC, she said, is a holistic learning Center where children will play, learn and develop in a bilingual environment. The ECLC is part of Zayed University, which is internationally accredited with a rich intellectual and cultural environment that supports the learning experiences.'The multi-cultural environment center uses an innovative research based program that incorporates the philosophy of the Creative Curriculum which draws from the best international standards. Our program promotes discovery, self- expression, interactive learning and skill building for future school success in a play- based environment,'' she added.
