Bahrain Bayan School laureates return to a warm welcome

Bahrain Bayan School laureates today returned to a warm welcome after winning the 2018 Zayed Future Energy Prize in the Global High Schools category. Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi welcomed them on their arrival at the Bahrain International Airport, in recognition of their achievement which honoured their country.

Dr. Al-Nuaimi hailed the achievement which, he said, reflects Bahrain’s landmark educational strides, paying tribute to the wise leadership for its support. He commended the efforts of the school and the students’ creativity, congratulating Bahrain Bayan Chairperson Dr. Shaikha Mai bint Sulaiman Al-Otaibi and all the administrative and teaching staff, students and parents on the remarkable achievement.

He reiterated the ministry’s resolve to continue supporting private education and honing gifted students on par with public schools through the Gifted Students’ Centre. Dr. Al-Otaibi expressed delight at honouring the Kingdom of Bahrain by winning the coveted prized. "The Bahrain Bayan team’s scientific project won the contest outclassing more than 1800 entries from China, the Philippines and India", she said.

Also present at the airport were Undersecretary for Resources and Services Dr. Mohammed Mubarak Juma’a, Undersecretary for Educational and Curricula Affairs Dr. Fawzi Abdulrahman Al-Jowder, Bahrain Bayan affiliates and laureates’ parents.
