Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi said the new school year 2017-2018 will witness the opening of five developed and environment-friendly schools for boys and girls in various governorates.

The minister today toured a number of the new schools to follow up the preparations for the new academic year, which begins on September 10, 2017, where he met members of educational and administrative structure.

The minister also toured classrooms, laboratories, sport and multi-purpose halls and offices which have been built in accordance with eco-friendly specifications and materials.

He praised the leadership's support for the educational process and its directives to establish developed schools in conformity with international standards for the promotion of the educational process.

The newly built eco-friendly schools have many advantages, including the use of new lighting technologies to save energy and preserve environment, soundproofed classrooms, anti-slip vinyl flooring, elevators, as well as the use of advanced electronic systems in the educational process.
