Abu Dhabi - WAM

HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development, today honoured the 55 winners of the "Think Science" Competition in a ceremony conducted by the Foundation at Zayed University. The competition was launched by the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development in October 2012. Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Board Member of the Foundation, senior officials and a number of CEOs of companies were present at the event. Earlier, the competitors who had attended the "Think Science" Competition held in Dubai in April, presented their inventions before 40 judges. Sheikh Abdullah said, "The Emirates Foundation for Youth Development launched the national programme "Think Science" as part of its strategic vision based on the social investment model: long-term sustainable projects with social value intended to achieve sustainable positive results for the Emirati community." He added that the honouring of winners was not accidental, but a result of continuous efforts exerted by the teamwork of the Foundation in conjunction with a number of companies, research and academic institutions across the country, to detect talented students in different science and technological fields from schools and universities. Sheikh Abdullah congratulated all the winners and their families, wishing them continuous innovative successes to serve the country. The Emirates Foundation for Youth Development is an independent, philanthropic organisation established by the Government of Abu Dhabi on April 12, 2005. The foundation helps young people in the UAE to reach their full potential.
