Beirut - KUNA
Southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital witnessed on Thursday inauguration of the Kuwait Schools Complex and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Schools Complex, with funding by Kuwait Fund For Arab Economic Development (KFAED). KFAED Director-General Abdul Wahab Al-Bader, in a statement to KUNA on the occasion, affirmed Kuwait's keenness on supporting educational and development ventures. The Kuwaiti fund has contributed to establishment of 14 schools in various regions of the country. Lebanese Ministry of Education has named several schools in greater Beirut after Kuwait and the country's top leaders. Inaugural ceremony for inaugurating the complexes, located in the suburban districts of Haret Horeik and Ghobeiri, was attended by the Kuwaiti embassy diplomats and staff. KAFED has given Lebanon 20 loans worth more than USD 612 million, in addition to grants valued at USD 420 million.
