Indonesia to host ASEAN women student

Indonesia will host the ASEAN Women Students Conference in the capital city of Jakarta in 2012 to encourage women's participation in the world's peace. Chairwoman of Women Corps of the Indonesian Islamic Students Movement Irma Muthoharoh told Xinhua after a discussion with the People's Consultative Assembly that women must also cover the issue in the globalized world. "We are preparing things for the conference," she said. According to Muthoharoh, the problem of women's role in Indonesian and in other countries is quite the same, which is the lack of their participation. "Based on the Peace Law, we have to encourage ASEAN women's role in peace," she said.
