The Emirates Aviation College announced last week that it was finalising plans for the construction of a new campus at the academic city. The new premises will meet the establishment's needs for the next 15 years, according to an official of the college. The announcement was made by Dr Ahmad Al Ali, Vice-Chancellor, Emirates Aviation College, when he handed out degrees in various disciplines to 164 graduates on Tuesday Marking the 20th graduation ceremony for the College, Dr Al Ali said additional programmes will be submitted for accreditation with the Ministry of Higher Education to meet the growing needs of the industry. Emirates Aviation College offers MBA in Aviation Management; Bachelor degrees in Aerospace Technology, Avionics Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management and Applied Business; Diplomas and Higher Diplomas in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Computing, Computing Software Development, Business Management and Tourism Management. Families, friends and Emirates' senior management were in attendance to join in celebrating the graduates' success. Due to the large number of graduates from the College this year, he said the ceremony is one of two graduations to be hosted in 2011. Combined with the next graduating class in November. "The College will have graduated more than 500 students in 2011; bringing the total that have graduated from Emirates Aviation College to well over 10,000 graduates over its 21 years of existence," said Dr Al Ali. As a testament to Emirates' commitment to provide further educational opportunities and development for Emiratis, 24 UAE nationals, who are also employees of Emirates, graduated from the Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering and higher national diploma in Aircraft Engineering Systems. "The College has worked tirelessly to become the premier aviation educational institution across the entire GCC region. Our vision is to be proactive, deliver excellence, to be highly regarded locally, regionally and internationally," said Dr Al Ali. "We are finalising the plans for the construction of a new campus at the academic city that will meet our needs for the next 10-15 years; equipping our students and educators with the latest technology to meet the needs of the future education in addition to expanding internationally," he added.
