Alcohol suspected in exposure death of Ohio college student

The body of a college student in Ohio was found in the snow this past weekend, and authorities say they suspect alcohol was a factor in his death from exposure. The body of David Hallman, a student at Denison University, a small private liberal arts college in Granville, was found by two women about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, YourErie.com reported. The Newark Advocate reported police said there did not appear to be foul play and Hallman likely died of exposure. Hallman, 21, of Erie, Pa., was last seen about 2 a.m. Saturday at Brews Cafe. Surveillance video shows him exiting the bar without a coat. The search for him began after he missed a scheduled noon appointment and his father couldn't reach him by phone. "David was a wonderful young man who was widely admired by our campus community," the school administration said in a statement Sunday. "Right now our focus is on supporting our students. We are very proud of the way our students came together last night to support one another. "At this time the investigation is still under way but police believe he died from exposure and no foul play is suspected, but police do suspect that alcohol may have been a factor."
