Beirut – Georges Chahine
The President of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee (LPDC), Dr. Khaldoun El Charif announced on Friday that two billion Lebanese pounds is allocated for textbooks in public schools for Syrian and Palestinian students. Dr. Khaldoun El Charif was informed of the cabinet’s decision by The Minister of Education Hassan Diab. This decision applies to students from primary classes to the ninth grade, he said, and came following meetings with concerned Palestinian authorities and relatives of Syrian students attending Lebanese public schools. The cabinet issued this decision in order to lighten the burden posed by the conditions of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon, he said.
