Manama - BNA

Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi said that a total of 14 school clubs will be opened across the kingdom from August 13 until 29 to provide varied educational and leisure activities for primary school students, in line with the Education Ministry’s programme in this regard. He added that this year’s programme includes field visits to cultural and leisure sites, as part of the education for citizenship efforts aiming to inform students about Bahrain’s landmark sites and encourage them to benefit from their free time during the summer holidays in a positive way. He added that there will be a morning period and an afternoon one, and clubs will work from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm from Sunday to Thursday, noting that parents can register their children through the ministry’s website (www.moe.gov.bh) , the e-Government portal (www.bahrain.bh) or go to the clubs personally. He pointed out that the Education Ministry had prepared schools to receive students and implement varied activities under the supervision of specialists and teachers. Arad, Al-Maamun, Okba ibn Nafae, Barbar, Osama bin Zaid and Isa Town primary boys schools, and Arad, Al-Quds, Al-Manhal, Karranah, Safra, Gharnata, Um Kalthoum and Al-Busaiteen primary girls schools will be included in the programme. The clubs will organize field visits to the Bahrain National Museum, Ahmed Al-Fateh Islamic Centre, Al-Areen wildlife reserve, the Bahrain Science Centre and the Nakhool Tent, as well as Dilmun Lost Paradise, Magic Island, Fun Land and Adhari Park. It is be noted that the Education Ministry organized a similar programme for intermediate students and some primary school ones in July.
