Scott Brown's contributor contract with Fox News renewed

Ex-Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., renewed his contract with Fox News, a Fox executive said Wednesday, confirming Brown's denial he and the network had parted ways. Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming at Fox News, said Wednesday Brown "has renewed his contributor agreement" that expired Feb. 11, the Washington Post reported. "The previous yearlong agreement expired on Feb. 11 and was never terminated; this was purely administrative," Shine said in a statement. "We look forward to his continuing political analysis and insight across the network." Brown, who lost his re-election bid to Democrat Elizabeth Warren in 2012, told the Post he will appear on the "Fox and Friends," Thursday. He earlier denied a report published by the Boston Globe that he was no longer under contract as a Fox contributor. Brown is eyeing a potential run against Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., but is also thought to be mulling a presidential bid, the Post said. Candidates must cut any ties with media outlets if they want to run for office.
