Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah
Kuwait - KUNA

Two Gulf media people have commended the role by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in healing Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC) rifts and ending differences among their member states.
This came on Tuesday via two separate phone calls made by these two people with the National Assembly's Al-Majlis TV Channel.
The channel said that at a time when some people believed that it was impossible to heal the rift among the GCC countries, His Highness the Amir was working silently and deeply to find a solution to inter-GCC crises.
Jaber Al Harami, editor-in-chief of the Qatari paper Al Sharq, said over his telephone call with the channel that the Gulf peoples expressed their gratitude to His Highness the Amir for solving problems.
He added that the Amir exerted huge efforts to bring views of the GCC leaders closer and turn over a new leaf.
He said Qatar's leadership and people thanked His Highness the Amir for his efforts in putting an end to such crises.
For his part, Jasser Al-Jasser, advisor to Editor-in-chief of Saudi newspaper Al-Jazirah, appreciated the role of His Highness the Amir in bringing the views of the GCC leaders closer.
Al-Jasser told Al-Majlis over the telephone that despite huge responsibilities of His Highness the Amir, he spares no effort to heal the rift.
His Highness the Amir had paid a host of visits to some GCC countries including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain on a mission aimed at bridging the gap and breaking the ice on relations among these nations.
The GCC leaders held a meeting on Sunday in Riyadh to end the crisis with Qatar and after the meeting Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain agreed to return their ambassadors to Qatar.
