London – Arabstoday

One of the best connected canines in London has met a grisly end after being killed in the revolving door of the office block where his owner worked at high society fashion magazine Tatler. Alan, a long-haired miniature dachshund, died on Monday afternoon in the doors at Vogue House, the Mayfair headquarters of Vogue’s publishers, Conde Nast. The emergency services were called to the scene, but despite the deployment of 10 firefighters and two fire engines, "unfortunately the dog passed away at the scene," a spokeswoman for the London Fire Brigade told international media. Alan was owned by Jennifer George, the editor's assistant and events manager at Tatler, which threw her a “puppy shower” when she acquired it last October. George paid tribute to her pet on Twitter, posting: "Yesterday my tiny much loved man Alan passed away in a tragic accident. Thank you to all that were there to help...He was so awesome and so very loved." A spokesman for Vogue added: "We can confirm that there was an accident in the revolving doors and that sadly Alan did pass away." Source: AFP
