Former secretary general of Egypt's Syndicate of Journalists Yehia Qalash has said he will run for the syndicate's chief post.
The syndicate will hold midterm elections on March 6 to fill six of the syndicate's board seats along with the chairman's.
The syndicate said the notification for the polls will be issued on February 14, while the last date for filing nominations is February 18.
The syndicate had approved the use of a judicial panel of the State Council to help oversee the electoral process.
