Emirati Media Forum announces RTA as strategic partner
Dubai - WAM

The Organising Committee of the Emirati Media Forum, EMF, on Saturday announced the Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, as a strategic partner of the 4th edition of the Forum.

Being held under the patronage of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 6th November, 2017, the Forum will bring together heads of local media organisations, subject-matter experts, editors-in-chief, journalists and intellectuals from across the UAE.

RTA’s partnership reflects the commitment of national establishments to support the growth of the UAE’s media sector by partnering with events such as the EMF. The prestigious annual event brings together prominent media personalities to discuss local and international media issues and engage in a constructive dialogue on matters affecting the community.

Acting Director of Dubai Press Club, Maitha Buhumaid, expressed her gratitude to the RTA for the partnership, saying that the support of leading national entities underscores the importance of the event.

She added that since the media sector is an integral part of the efforts to enhance excellence and progress, it is critical to promote its development by introducing the latest technologies in accordance with the ‘UAE Vision 2021,’ which aims to transform the UAE into one of the best countries in the world.

"This collaboration between the EMF and the RTA reflects the keenness of leading national establishments to empower the media sector so that it plays an influential and positive role in the development of the nation and in building the capabilities of members of the society," Buhumaid said.

She further said that to ensure a leading position for the UAE and to be prepared to deal with the challenges the future may bring, it is essential to get fresh perspectives on vital media issues. She noted that the current edition of the EMF focusses on the national role of the UAE media at a time when the region is beset with political turmoil.

Moza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the RTA, stressed the importance of the media sector as a strategic partner in the development process, especially at the current time when advanced technologies are enhancing the power of image and words.

She expressed her happiness at the partnership with the Dubai Press Club, noting that it supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and the efforts to achieve the goals of the UAE Centennial 2071 plan that aims to further the country’s sustainable development.
