Medhat Mokhtar
Moscow - MENA

Egypt Sat-2 satellite is working properly and under the full control of Egyptian experts, RIA Novosti reported, citing the head of the Office for Remote Sensing and Space Science in Egypt Medhat Mokhtar.

The comments came in response to media reports about the loss of communication with the satellite.

Mokhtar said what really happened was a normal technical failure which arises from time to time for all satellites, adding that the problem was fixed.

He explained that "any failure in the management of the satellite begins with a lack of response to commands from Earth."

"Maybe the problem is the weakness of the battery," he added.
