Egypt updates foreign correspondents on north Sinai attack circumstances

The Foreign Ministry updated on Sunday the foreign correspondents accredited in Egypt over the circumstances of the terrorist attack that targeted army men in North Sinai on Friday.
At least 30 army men were killed and dozens wounded in a car bomb targeting two armoured vehicles at a checkpoint in North Sinai.
The meeting with the foreign reporters come as part of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry's directives to step up moves to brief the world on the seriousness of Friday attack.
The ministry underlined the seriousness of the war Egypt is waging against terrorism and the need for more regional and international efforts to fight terrorists in the region with no exception as they all adopt the same ideology.
It reviewed the measures the Egyptian government is taking to fight these terrorist groups, especially the state of emergency announced in North Sinai.
The ministry reiterated keenness on preserving innocent civilians during the war against terrorism.
