Manama - BNA

Board Members of the Bahrain Press Club (BPC) have extended sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the directives he issued as he chaired here yesterday the regular weekly cabinet meeting, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, asserting that they will boost national press and consolidate its role as a main pillar of the reform and development marches in the kingdom. In this regard, they praised HM the King's instructions to ensure the safety, protection and freedom for journalists, speed up the issuance of a Press Law and allocate a housing project for media personalities. They also lauded HRH Premier's constant support for the press sector and directives to the concerned officials to implement the royal instructions as soon as possible. BPC also reiterated its backing for the press community in the kingdom's call for the need to expedite the issuance of a modern Press Law that reflects HM the King's pioneering Reform Project, praising the Royal directives to appoint an official spokesperson to provide timely accurate information, respond to fallacies and highlight the achievements attained during HM the King's glorious era.
